Form follows function by design in a Fox Point kitchen remodel elevated around the art of gathering. Rooted in Scandinavian design philosophy, where beauty and practicality are in perfect balance, the space was stripped back and refined to suit the way the homeowners actually live – cooking freely, hosting graciously, and welcoming everyone in.

The kitchen needed room to breathe and space for people to be. Refined & Co. reimagined the existing layout to be both high-functioning and inviting, creating an open environment and introducing clean lines, warmth, and rich yet organic tones and textures.

Now, the floor plan flows naturally into the dining and living rooms, anchored by an island with a built-in chef’s table. Guests can pull up a stool to the quartz countertop while dinner is being prepared. Purpose-built for engaging entertaining, the dedicated spot to gather and enjoy conversation as meals and memories are made drove the design narrative for the entire renovation.

An open pantry, a cookbook shelf, and ventilated root-vegetable drawers — a rare detail found in traditional Scandinavian homes — ensure that every inch is intentional. Light wood cabinetry, natural ceramic surfaces, and a soft neutral palette keep the kitchen calm and grounded, while sculptural dark pendants nod to mid-century Danish design and a brushed brass faucet layers luxe warmth.
Custom wood appliance pulls created by William & Lowell for the fridge establish further continuity in the kitchen with fine cabinetry that doubles as a design throughline.
