Designing a home for a multi-generational family means striking a balance between shared spaces and individual rooms. Carefully placed architectural details breathe new life into this classic colonial, giving each space a sense of charm and thoughtful purpose. Additional children’s suites were added so all three kids have their own space to grow into.
The kitchen was reimagined as a central gathering place, opening the space for comfort, lingering family dinners, and modern living. This kitchen now includes eat-in counter seating and a corner banquette, complete with integrated Wolf appliances and brass pendant lighting, blending practicality with style. Thoughtful finishing touches, like low-profile Bluetooth Sonos speakers throughout the house, let the family control their tunes and podcasts everywhere—while looking good doing it.
Other living upgrades include a new basement, foyer, dining room, staircase, and a functional, family-ready garage and adjoining mudroom designed to handle all the comings and goings of this busy family. To honor the home’s original character, the exterior of the custom additions was finished with some of the original bricks, keeping the familiar charm intact.
Mornings in this home start early. Really early. This husband-and-wife doctor duo rise while it’s still dark, long before their three kids stir, quietly beginning their day in the master bathroom. They wanted a space that’s beautiful, easy to clean, and packed with smart storage, and we delivered with thoughtful design at every turn. Sleek Ann Sacks tile, mixed metals, a gorgeous tile backsplash, built-in linen cabinets, a space-saving pocket door, and an extra skylight bring in as much natural light as possible on those dark mornings. This master bathroom is also the Gold winner of the 2023 Milwaukee Magazine Home & Design Awards, a perfect example of how thoughtful design and craftsmanship can make everyday routines feel just a little more special.
This Lakehill Court whole home renovation was designed so that every member of the family has a beautiful space to live, grow, and simply be together.
