This is the Spicy Italian project in Cedarburg, a full refresh of the kitchen, powder room, mudroom, and pantry. The original curved island just wasn’t cutting it for family meals and cooking together, so we borrowed space from a rarely used office to give the first floor more breathing room. That extra square footage allowed us to design a larger island, a walk-in pantry, a powder room, and a coat closet—everything on the wishlist, checked off. To cozy up the dinette’s soaring vaulted ceilings, we added reclaimed wood beams that bring texture, warmth, and a touch of everyday magic to the space.
The kitchen pairs putty-colored cabinets with white oak and handmade clay tiles, creating a space that’s functional, beautiful, and ready for multi-generational cooking sessions. It’s a kitchen made for laughter, conversation, and inspiring the next generation to fall in love with cooking—spicy Italian style.
This project earned an ASID award and was named one of Houzz’s Top 10 Powder Rooms, a nod to how thoughtful design can balance heritage, style, and everyday family life beautifully.
