Let’s talk about this kitchen. Located in Delafield, this award-winning kitchen brings timeless English charm to a modern Lake Country home in Waukesha County.
It started out with all the usual suspects: not enough light, a layout that didn’t flow, dead corners, and a fridge that was basically doing its own thing down the hall. But the client had a clear vision—something cozy, a little nostalgic, and just quirky enough to feel personal. She wanted it to remind her of the English kitchens she loved growing up. We were all in.

Our client wanted a kitchen that felt warm, welcoming, and beautifully lived-in. Think English scullery meets modern family life. We’re talking handmade zellige tiles, exposed brass hinges, a farmhouse sink (wall-mounted, of course), and a palette of soft, airy blues that makes the whole space feel like a deep breath.
Bonus: It’s as hardworking as it is beautiful.

Ok, let’s talk about the materials.
The custom spindle-leg island looks like it could’ve been plucked from a centuries-old English manor—complete with brass keyhole drawers and mesh veggie bins. The powder blue La Cornue range is honestly the stuff of kitchen dreams. We added open shelving for everyday essentials (and a few favorite cookbooks), increased natural light with a taller window, and went full English antique with the lighting and hardware.

Oh, and the cremone bolt that latches into the countertop? A detail so good we kind of can’t stop talking about it.

This kitchen isn’t just about aesthetics (though it’s got plenty of those). It’s about memory, function, and making daily life feel just a little bit more joyful. It’s a space where stories happen—from slow Sunday breakfasts to quick weekday lunches and everything in between.
And now it’s an ASID award winner, too. Which just makes this transformation even sweeter.
